Coconut & Oatmeal Milk Bath

Updated: Jul 8, 2023

Taking a milk bath is such a soothing way to end your day, but did you know that it also has amazing benefits?

This DIY milk bath can help soothe itchy skin and provide relief for sunburn, eczema and psoriasis.

Coconut Milk Powder

Because I tend to use vegan products on my skin, I decided to use coconut milk powder for this recipe. Coconut milk has amazing hydrating benefits but can be switched out for whole milk powder which has more moisturizing properties.

Colloidal Oats

Colloidal oatmeal helps lock in moisture making it a great remedy for dry skin. These oats also help relieve itchy, inflamed skin.

Epsom Salt

Although we know that Epsom salt helps relax muscles, did you know that it can also soothe skin affected by eczema and psoriasis?

Chamomile

Not only does chamomile have great properties for consuming but it can also benefit the skin. Chamomile is an anti-inflammatory and also helps treat sunburn, soothe eczema, and helps to reduce skin irritants.

Rose Petals

Rose petals give off both a lovely look and fragrance but also have moisturizing and anti-inflammatory properties

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Coconut milk powder

  • 1/4 Cup Colloidal Oats

  • 1/4 Cup Epsom Salt

  • 1/2 Cup Crushed chamomile/rose petals optional

Directions

  1. Combine coconut milk, colloidal oats and Epsom salt into bowl, making sure that there are no clumps.

  2. Add crushed flowers to mixture. Mix.

  3. Using a funnel or spoon, add milk bath mixture to air-tight container and store in a cool, dry place.

  4. To use, pour desired amount into warm water and enjoy!

If you are afraid that the flowers will clog your drain, I recommend putting the mixture in a mesh bag and sitting it in the tub.
